RoadOut is a story-driven adventure with top-down action-RPG and driving mechanics, set in a post-apocalyptic world where you drive, take jobs and fight on foot through puzzle-filled dungeons.

RoadOut is a story-driven adventure that combines top-down action RPG elements with driving mechanics. It takes place in a post-post-apocalyptic world dominated by an A.I., where rebel groups shelter in a desert area known as The Dead Zone.

Claire survives by taking black market contracts for local leaders, including delivery, sabotage, and murder. The area is occupied by three rival factions: The Wasteheads, The SaibaKuran, and Order of the New Code.

Players drive through The Dead Zone to do jobs, earn money, join factions, fight rival gangs, barter items, and take up quests. They can also leave the car to explore on foot, fight with short- and long-range attacks, block with a shield, solve puzzles, and recover using crafted drugs.

Claire can be customized with body mods, cybernetics, and a skill tree system. The car can also be upgraded to handle different terrain and the effects of weather, night, and day.
