Overview
Not a Hero is a 2¼D cover-based indie shooter where Steve and other heroes shoot, slide, dive and take cover while clearing a city’s three districts and persuading voters for BunnyLord’s campaign.
About the game
Steve, a professional assassin turned amateur campaign manager, is tasked with cleaning up the city by BunnyLord, an anthropomorphic rabbit and mayoral candidate from the future. Steve and a growing roster of dubious heroes must use their skills to shoot, slide, dive, and take cover while promoting a political platform built on ethics, accountability, and gunfire.
The game sends players through the city’s three major districts to eliminate the criminal underworld and persuade undecided voters. It combines run-and-gun action with cover-based shootouts, using a quick-snap cover system for sliding, rolling, and diving into position before counterattacking.
There are 9 selectable heroes, each with distinct gameplay styles and crime-murdering abilities. Missions include primary objectives and sometimes random secondary goals, with unexpected mid-level events such as SWAT teams, gun-toting elderly, helicopter gunships, pandas, pugs, and suicidal samurais.
