MechWarrior 4: Vengeance

A mech combat game set during the FedCom Civil War on Kentares IV, where Ian Dresari leads a guerrilla Resistance against Steiner loyalists to retake the planet.

The FedCom Civil War engulfs Kentares IV after William Dresari betrays his family and launches a surprise Steiner attack on the Dresari royal palace. He takes the throne under Katherine Steiner-Davion’s Lyran Alliance, while Eric Dresari and most of the royal family are killed.

Ian Dresari returns home and joins his uncle, Sir Peter Dresari, in a guerrilla campaign against the Steiner loyalists. He fights alongside Casey Nolan, Jen McQuarrie, Jules Gonzales, and their commander Elise Rathburn as the Resistance moves from the moon to the arctic regions, then into the mountains and the Hadra Peninsula.

During the campaign, Peter is murdered by Duncan Burke, and later Ian discovers that his sister Joanna survived the siege of the palace. The Resistance captures a satellite network, searches for an abandoned prison camp, and saves the coastal town of Vale before continuing its advance.

As the fighting reaches the city, Ian must choose between rescuing Joanna or securing an old armory cache. The final battle ends with Ian defeating William in a modified Daishi and freeing Kentares IV. Depending on the choice made in the second-to-last mission, either Joanna or Ian becomes ruler of the planet.
