MechWarrior 4: Black Knight

MechWarrior 4: Black Knight is a mech combat game where you play Eric McClair, a recently discharged ‘Mech pilot leading the Black Knight Legion through escort and disruption missions in the Houses Davion and Steiner conflict.

The story follows Eric McClair, a recently discharged ‘Mech pilot from House Davion, who joins the Black Knight Legion, a mercenary group led by Colonel Lawhorn. At first, the Legion takes on escort contracts for the Corvatti Corporation.

The Legion is then approached by Major Clarrisa Dupree, a Lyran Alliance mercenary liaison officer, who offers a contract to help retake Kentares IV on behalf of House Steiner and provides free ‘Mechs as a gesture of goodwill. On Kentares IV, the Legion carries out disruption missions against Duke Ian Dressari’s forces.

Dupree later betrays the Legion after aligning herself with Dressari. Steiner ‘Mechs attack, killing Lawhorn and leaving McClair in command. He continues the contract, works with rebels, kills Dressari and his supporters at the palace, then hunts down Dupree on Voltrat III and destroys her garrison. McClair makes Voltrat III the Legion’s new home.
