You are the only human on a huge robotic spaceship flying through deep space. Your mission is to find and settle a new planet where humanity can thrive. Combat is inevitable, but success also depends on resourcefulness, charm, and political skill when dealing with intelligent beings who see you as the alien.

The game emphasizes 3D space combat and detailed ship visuals, with the ability to pilot a starship 15,000 feet long, customize it for performance, and control remote fightercraft in strategic battles. It also includes role-playing depth through multiple star clusters, a dozen solar systems in each cluster, and 25 species of aliens.

Among the alien species mentioned are the Broodsmasters, the Lutin, and the Cicisbeo.
