Far Cry is a sandbox FPS action shooter set on a tropical island, where Jack Carver fights mercenaries and explores a lush jungle while trying to survive.

A tropical island hides a dangerous secret. Freelance mariner Jack Carver is hired by a reporter named Valerie to take her there, but after they dock, his boat is destroyed by artillery fire from a mysterious militia group.

With his money gone and Valerie missing, Jack is left to face mercenaries in the island’s wilds with only a gun and his wits. As he pushes deeper into the jungle, he learns that the situation is far worse than it first appeared.

An insider within the militia reveals the mercenaries’ true intentions and gives Jack a grim choice: fight them or allow a maniac’s plan to continue. The game features a sandbox FPS structure with multiple ways to complete objectives, challenging AI that responds dynamically, and graphics that can be upgraded by fan-made content.
