Endless Sky

2D space trading and combat game where you earn money carrying passengers or cargo, escorting convoys, bounty hunting, or capturing ships in a galaxy with hundreds of star systems, planets, and alien species.

Endless Sky is a 2D space trading and combat game inspired by the classic Escape Velocity series. You start with a relatively small shuttle, cargo ship, or fighter and can work up to a highly upgraded flagship or a fleet of warships or freighters.

Money can be earned by carrying passengers or cargo, escorting convoys, bounty hunting, or plundering and capturing enemy ships. You can take sides in a civil war, or ignore the story line and explore the galaxy while fighting pirates.

The main story line takes about 8-16 hours to complete. The galaxy includes hundreds of star systems and planets, several alien species with their own technologies, more than fifty ships, and several hundred ship upgrades.

The game is free, open source, and cross platform for Windows, Mac, and Linux. It also includes a plugin system and a galaxy editor for adding new ships, weapons, missions, star systems, and planets.
