Decadent is a story-driven first-person shooter that combines atmospheric exploration, Lovecraftian horror, and expansive gameplay mechanics. It is set in a dangerous land where time stands still, creating a sense of loneliness.

You play as John Lorn, a royal explorer and veteran of the Great War who has become a decadent occultist. After a traumatic occult experiment leaves him host to a mysterious parasite, he travels to the Arctic to follow traces of a lost Miskatonic University expedition.

As courage and sanity are pushed to the limit, the journey involves walking the line between good and evil. The features include visceral first-person gunplay, scavenging and customizing weapons, uncovering the Weirds, and exploring sunless forests, frozen tundras, caves, and other hostile places.

A dynamic sanity system can lead to hallucinations or panic attacks, and character progression uses artifacts to alter vital stats. New equipment also opens access to previously unavailable areas.
